Jim Lumpkin, President of Lake Country Fishing, grew up on Lake Sinclair since 1960 and has developed a deep passion for the Lake Country area. Jim’s family built a cabin on Lake Sinclair in 1960 when the lake was just beginning to develop residential communities where most weekends and holidays were spent enjoying lake life. Times have changed and the lake looks completely different than it did in 1960 with tremendous lakefront residential growth but the lure of Lake Country still remains the same. The fishing and the community will always be special.
In 2020 when Covid stifled the nation, Jim decided to leave the corporate world behind and start a project more meaningful and enjoyable than airports, hotels, rental car counters and boardroom meetings. It was at that time that the concept of starting a local Lake Country project began starting with the primary goals of promoting the great fishing of Lake country while supporting the local community at the same time. After much planning and deliberation Jim decided to launch a website with granular, current and lake specific information to provide anglers of all experience levels with fishing intelligence to improve their success. The second goal was to assist the local community as much as possible driving as much revenue from the $1.8 billion dollar Ga fishing impact into our local community. The concept of LakeCountryFishing was born.
LakeCountryFishing.com was launched in August of 2020 and is a member of the Fish-Intel community including BassingBob for the Lake of the Ozarks, Truman Lake Fishing Intel, Grand Lakes Fishing Intel, and Tommy Martin Fishingintel for Toledo Bend. The website is a compilation of a couple of hundred years of experience from local professionals like Danny White, Randy Jackson, John Duvall, Todd Goade, David Lowery, Brad Stalnaker and Jason Cheek. Johnathon West, Mark Smith and others will be contributing information for other species. Current updates will be posted from these anglers as well as other local anglers. LakeCountry is partnering with the tournament trails to provide schedules, results and the winning strategies. Several local tackle manufacturers, retailers and service providers in our local area will be partnering with LakeCountryfishing to provide exclusive specials to our members.
The website offers visitors a variety of information and resources. For those looking for the ultra-detailed and frequently updated fishing reports and exclusive videos, premium memberships are available that cover all species or individual species. For the more casual angler, free memberships are available for things like tournament reports and the monthly expert round table dinner videos with the guides. And there is much more to explore that doesn’t require a membership at all!
